In the year of 2016 technology had become a constant part of everyone's daily life. Through a new app aimed at connecting strangers, Julia and Slaten both swiped right. Their first date was spent hiking to Horsetooth Rock, which set the foundation for a relationship filled with adventure, trust, and magic. They quickly realized their shared love of the outdoors, live music, and adventuring, and their love quickly blossomed.

While finishing their education at CSU, they spent every chance they could exploring, laughing, camping, and dancing their way through life . Julia was quickly enchanted by Slaten's easy going, adventurous spirit that filled every day with comfort and laughter, and Slaten was enthralled by her one of a kind beauty, caring nature, and wild spirit.

Their next chapter was a natural and exciting choice; moving to the mountains. For Slaten this was a return to the peaceful and adventurous life he had always known. For Julia however this was a daunting task of overcoming her fear of heights, as she tried to catch up to Slay on skis. While she may not be able to catch up to him to this day, she can drop cliffs, and that's good enough.

Then came the cats—tiny, mischievous reminders that love often arrives in purrs, chaos, and unexpected joy. They made our house feel complete, turning quiet evenings into small adventures of their own. They taught us to pause, to laugh, and to cherish the simple comfort of being together.

From backcountry trails to snowy mornings, from spontaneous road trips to cozy nights with our little family, our story has been an adventure—one shaped by courage, curiosity, and the gentle certainty that we are better together.

As the years went on they shared a bounty of incredible trips together, from the Poudre Canyon to Moab, Lake Tahoe to Joshua Tree, Jackson Hole to Crested Butte. And now, as we stand at the beginning of our greatest adventure yet—marriage—we do so with full hearts, grateful for every step that brought us here. The mountains led us to each other. And the rivers will carry us to our dreams.
